Congrats to Georgia football. Rivals.com has ranked their current (2007-2008) recruiting class as the 6th best in the nation.
Wow -- Georgia Football looked awesome last night! The Bulldogs beat Hawaii 41-10 in the Sugar Bowl and the game was not as close as the score indicates.... Dominating performance as Georgia showed Hawaii what SEC football is all about. The Dogs smothered Hawaii's highly touted offense led by Heisman Trophy candidate Colt Brennan.
There will be lots of discussion about whether Georgia is the best team in the SEC and whether it should have been in the National Championship game. It didn't happen because we don't have a playoff system. You can read more about that at College Football Playoff.
The Georgia Bulldogs look strong going into 2008. Really strong. They will battle it out with Florida for the SEC East Championship and probably the SEC Championship. Maybe the National Championship. They had a young team in 07. So, QB Matt Stafford and RB Knowshon Moreno both return along with most of the Bulldog's starters on defense. Look out for Georgia Bulldogs football!

Our very early prediction is that Georgia will be the 3rd straight SEC football team to win college football's national championship. Surely, the BCS won't pick another Big Ten team to go the NC game. So, likely opponent is USC.
Georgia will take out USC in the 2008 BCS National Championship game (played in Jan 09). Maybe then, everyone will finally accept, that SEC football is indeed THE BEST! More to come.
Congrats to the Bulldogs for getting a BCS bowl bid. Georgia plays undefeated Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. 2006 was a disappointing year for Georgia football. They lost to
Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky - and - at home - to Vanderbilt. |

But, the
Bulldogs finished the year strong, beating Auburn, Georgia Tech and
Virginia Tech (in the Chick-fil-A Bowl). They ended up 9-4, ranked 23rd
nationally.
Last season, Coach Richt stuck with freshman QB Matthew Stafford, who completed 135 passes but gave up 13 interceptions. He was inconsistent, but showed great potential, coming on strong at the end of the season. Stafford was named offensive MVP at the Chick-fil-A Bowl and was named to the Freshman All-SEC Team. Sticking with Stafford last year; allowing him to get crucial big-game experience, will pay dividends for Georgia football in 2007.

The Bulldogs look to improve this season; but they still have question marks in the offensive line and defensive secondary. Georgia is putting a lot of faith in running back Kregg Lumpkin, who rushed for 798 yards and scored 7 touchdowns last season. Corner Paul Oliver, who was ranked one of the best corners in football, is another player Georgia is counting on.
It will be another rebuilding year for Georgia football. Coach Richt continuously talks about how he thinks they are going to improve their secondary team. He plans on utilizing some younger players this year. Richt is placing a lot of pressure on sophomores Prince Miller and Asher Allen to come through and play big this year. Thomas Flowers is returning at corner after his injury kept him absent for most of last season.
Bottom line is we predict the 2007 version of Georgia Football will be better than the 2006 version. But, not that much better. We think they'll end up 3rd in the SEC East (probably tied with at least one other team). But, they'll still go to a nice bowl - and win it.
We think Stafford and the Bulldog offense will come into its own in 2008.
We think you'll love your Georgia Bulldogs Merchandise and Apparel, Tickets, and Georgia Bulldog Fight Song Poster too.
