2010-2011 ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS WOMENS BASKETBALL PREVIEW
The Arkansas Lady Razorbacks could easily end up at the bottom of the SEC, but I believe that they have two playmakers that can win them a couple games in the SEC and keep them out of the cellar. This is, unfortunately, about the best the Lady Razorbacks can expect this season.
The biggest problem for Arkansas is that their leading scorer, Charity Ford, graduated over the off-season. Without her, the Lady Razorbacks must rely on Lindsey Harris and C'eira Ricketts, who are the top leading scorers returning to Arkansas this season. They both were great last season, and look to build on their success from last year.
Harris had an issue with turnovers last season, but also had nearly 100 assists on the season. Ricketts was the team leader in assists, so the talent between these two is there. Unfortunately, the talent after Harris and Ricketts leaves much to be desired.
The main problem with the Lady Razorbacks was their defense. They averaged giving up 67.4 points per game. This hurt their offense, which only average 64.9 points, and never really gave them a chance to win many games last season. This looks to continue this season, as the Lady Razorbacks have little returning that could bolster their already anemic defense.
Head Coach Tom Collen will have his work cut out for him just to get near .500 this season with Arkansas. The only way the Lady Razorbacks will make the postseason this season will be if they get hot and win the SEC Tournament, which I just do not see happening at this point. Hopefully, they can use the experience from this year to make a push next season.
