Top Ten Current College Football Coaches

There's plenty of debate over who are the best current college football coaches. Here's what we said last year. If Georgia does well this year (as we expect), we may have to add Mark Richt to the list.

Top 10 Current CFB Coaches

Urban Meyer – Smartest Coach in the game; great recruiter; in his prime; did it at a small program (Utah) and big program (Florida). Right now, he's the best all-around. One day he may be viewed as the Best CFB Coach Ever.

Rich Rodriguez – Does a lot with the W. Va program.

Steve Spurrier – Knows how to win. Gets the most out of the talent he has to work with.

Pete Carroll – Great recruiter; good game coach; can't argue with his record.

Bob Stoops – 89-19 record at Oklahoma; National Championship.

Frank Beamer – does a great job at Va. Tech.

Greg Schiano – amazing what he's done at Rutgers.

Nick Saban – Did it at LSU; doing it now at Bama.

Jim Tressel – 4 NC's at Div I-AA Youngstown State; 1 at Ohio State. 14-0 in 2002. 5-1 vs Michigan.

Les Miles – after LSU wins it all this year, no one will question this pick.

Honorable Mentions: Chris Petersen – Boise State; Rich Brooks – Kentucky.
