Mark Fox Biography
For Georgia Bulldogs fans who are hungry for success and who were ready for a change to be made within the conference, they got their wish this off-season with the hiring of Mark Fox. In Fox, Georgia fans get a true basketball guy, someone who knows the game inside and out, and who has shown an ability to win and win consistently.
Following his graduation, Fox decided early on that his ultimate goal was to move into the basketball coaching ranks. So he immediately signed on to a position as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Washington, where he soon advanced to the position of full-time assistant coach. He spent two seasons there before eventually moving into the Big 12, where he took a position serving as an assistant coach for Kansas State. It was during his tenure at Kansas State that he really found his stride, and really learned how to connect with players. Many former players have credited Fox as having a special talent for that.

Kansas State experienced a high level of success during the seasons in which Fox served as the team's assistant coach. During his tenure there, the team managed two NIT appearances and one NCAA Tournament appearance, for a total of 3 postseason appearances in all. And his hard work paid off, as eventually, when they were in need of a new head coach to lead their program, the University of Nevada came knocking on Fox's door.

That level of success at the University of Nevada led to tremendous excitement among fans of the Georgia Bulldogs, who are desperately yearning for the program to climb the ranks of the Southeastern Conference after a number of years lower on the totem pole. However, through his first 16 games as the head coach of the University of Georgia, Fox is off to a slow start. He is only 8-8 overall thus far and remains winless in his first 3 games within conference play. It remains to be seen whether this is just s slow start of whether indeed this is a sign of things to come. It is in the best interests of Bulldogs fans to be patient, at least for now, as Fox's track record would lead one to believe better things are on the horizon.
