What's up with the officials?

Having only watched football with half-hearted interest, this year I have watched my fav team closely (Go Dawgs!). I am appalled at the outrageous calls the officials are making.

In the GA v. LSU game, a penalty on GA for celebrating in the last couple of minutes of the game. It was a ridiculous call and completely unfounded. It lost the game for that team.

Are these officials looking for better pay or more attention? Following the rules is one thing, but they are going way overboard and ruining the fun of watching for the fans. I think I'll go back to my previous low-interest state.
