Just remember how your conference was intergrated. The "liberal west" educated the SEC on the importance of the Black athlete in their programs. USC v. Alabama!
But this really is not a political issue. It is a matter of circumstance. There is simply more to do in the West from entertainment to a multitude of extracurricular activities. Football is not God in the west. We don't have football factories built from Pop Warner through high school. The emphasis is not on football in the west but we do play it extremely well. If you took a good look at most of your NFL coaching staffs you would notice the Super Bowl variety were educated in the west.
Also your information is highly questionable given that USC won at least 4 National Championships from 1970 - 1979. I have a great deal of respect for the athletes of the SEC but just be clear on the facts and understand there has been at least one star or Super Bowl MVP from the west coast in nearly every Super Bowl played including last year.
