The Missouri Tigers have a 2 game winning streak and now have the second best over-all record in the SEC and are fourth according to overall standings with a 4-3 SEC record and 16-4 over all record. This is a team that we all thought would be tournament bound in non-conference play, but a sub par performance early on in SEC play did not look like it would end soon.
It turned out that they may have awoken and are now playing some of their best basketball. With early losses in conference play to Georgia and Vanderbilt, preceded by a non-conference loss to Illinois, things weren't going to end well for this team. Their ability to shoot the ball well and rebound has certainly given them a leg up on many of the SEC teams they have played in the last 4 or 5 games.
Having two players averaging almost twenty games apiece and the key role players rebounding and assisting, they have proven themselves as a contender to get in the NCAA tournament once again this year. They came in to their last game playing a desperate team in Arkansas. They beat them at Bud Walton, where the Razorbacks are almost unbeatable and controlled the game for most of the second half. It's time to show who they are now as they play the top three teams in the SEC in three consecutive games.
They play Kentucky at home, but then Florida and Ole Miss on the road. You have to figure if they win 2 out of those three they are locks for a good seed in the NCAA tournament and will have a great seed in the SEC tournament. This is no team to sleep on come tournament time.
