When you actually compare schools, not based on stadium size and history, but on actual ability, the SEC isn't above anyone. Break the conferences into thirds based on basically the last couple years top teams, middle teams, bottom teams.
SEC
Florida, Alabama, LSU, Georgia
Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina
Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State
-Georgia, recent losses to Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech. Alabama lost at home and away to Oklahoma. South Carolina lost in bowl to Missouri. Kentucky lost to Louisville, Arkansas lost to Oklahoma in Cotton Bowl and lost to Texas, Auburn lost a game that I don't need to mention, Florida lost to Michigan in bowl, etc.
SEC lovers ignore these facts and promote their wins. I remember a game in the late 90's in which Nebraska destroyed Florida, but the SEC was 'king' then to.
