Review of Week 10 Games
South Carolina 34 – Mississippi State 16
I was surprised Carolina came through in this one since Spurrier’s boys usually screw the pooch after an emotional win.
They have one last conference game next week, so their season comes down to one final game, and then they have to hope for some help.
Missouri 31 – Tennessee 3
Another surprise, since I thought the letdown after the Gamecocks loss would carry over a few weeks, but Gary Pinkel has done a great job and should be coach of the year in the SEC.
Then again, as bad as the Vols offense was, and it was pretty offensive, Missouri could have dug up Don Faurot and had him call plays since it would not have mattered much.
Georgia 23 – Florida 20
Hey Dawgs, the game is 60 minutes. If it had been any other team with a pulse on offense, it would have been three straight week of trips to the pound for these mutts.
Auburn 35 – Arkansas 17
Pretty routine as the Tigers are priming themselves for a title shot with Bama in a few weeks at Jordan-Hare.
Kentucky 48 – Alabama State 14
Good news for the Wildcats, they didn’t spaz up when a team from Alabama lined up across from them.
Hey, this is progress!
Texas A&M 57 – UTEP 7
A&M scored 57, the Miners 7 and Manziel scored high on the punk of the game scale.
Week 11 Games
Vanderbilt at Florida
The last time the ‘Doors beat the Gators was 1988, and the last time they beat the Gators in Gainesville was the first time they played, in 1945. Overall, Vandy has won only nine times in 46 attempts. Yuck!
Well, gather around your TV sets ladies and gentlemen because you are about to see something you haven’t seen in 68 years.
Vanderbilt 24 – Florida 17
Missouri at Kentucky
The Tigers tune up for Ole Miss and get one step closer to Atlanta with what should be nothing more than a light workout in Lexington.
Remember when I wrote that Alabama will never lose another game ever again? I have the same feeling about Kentucky, only in reverse.
Missouri 49 – Kentucky 21
Auburn at Tennessee
The other Tigers vying for a spot in Atlanta travel to Knoxville hoping to keep their dream alive for a showdown with Alabama.
Auburn has a much tougher game next week against Georgia, so I am sure they will be distracted this week, especially since the Vols have not beaten the Tigers since 1999. Everyone believes UT is nothing more than a speed bump for the suddenly mighty Tigers.
If this one was in Auburn, I would say the party will continue well past midnight. Well, it isn’t, so the clock will strike twelve in Big Orange Country on Saturday.
Tennessee 28 – Auburn 24
Arkansas at Ole Miss
Remember what the Titanic looked like as it sank like a stone? That’s what I see when I think of the Razorbacks…
Ole Miss 49 – Arkansas 14
Appalachian State at Georgia
Georgia better enjoy this one because they won’t be so fortunate next Saturday…
Georgia 56 – Appalachian State 7
Mississippi State at Texas A&M
What am I, a parrot? Every week I predict the Aggies will lose just because I loathe Johnny Punkball. Maybe the Bulldogs will do us all a favor and knock him on his can.
Mississippi State 35 – Texas A&M 30
LSU at Alabama
They do not get any bigger than this in the SEC.
There is no doubt in my mind the Tide will win this one, due to the Tiger’s shaky defense, and the unpredictability of Zack Mettenberger’s arm. And the game is not being played in Death Valley.
This win will add to the Tide’s legitimacy as one of the BCS Championship game participants come January.
Alabama 24 – LSU 14
