The week in the SEC was another big one. We had a possible Final Four elimination game, a near huge upset, and one very large upset. First of all, Texas A&M suspends their starting quarterback and wins over UL Monroe by only 5. The rest of the season is being questioned and what they will do at quarterback next season as well. Florida came out and crushed Georgia in a huge upset. I don't think anyone saw this one coming. Florida's ground attack was what Georgia's normally is. Kentucky lost to Missouri by ten.
I really thought that the Wildcats had a chance in this one, but Missouri played more like the old Missouri. Auburn edged out Ole Miss and may have knocked Ole Miss out of the playoffs. Vanderbilt got a good win over Old Dominon. Mississippi State got a scare from a better than advertised Arkansas team and Tennessee beat South Carolina. You've got to wonder what this season spells for the "Old Ball Coach".
Mississippi State stays at the top of the final four with Auburn staying at 3. Ole Miss dropped out, possibly for good with two losses. I think the thing in the SEC is, there is no largely dominant team and several of the teams in the West are yet to play each other. It's going to be hard to come out undefeated or even with only one loss. We'll see how it plays out.
This week may contain less shock value. Kentucky hosts Georgia. I think Kentucky could give them a game, but I have to believe in Georgia in this one. Ole Miss, who dropped to 11, plays Presbyterian. There shouldn't be a problem with Ole Miss taking this one. A&M travels to Auburn, barring something that would be a shocker, Auburn should take this one.
The Aggies just don't look the same this year and starting this back up quarterback is going to be tough. Mississippi State should have no problems with UT Martin. I believe they will take this one big. Florida plays Vanderbilt. Florida should win this one and continue on from last week's momentum.
The big game this week is Alabama and an improving LSU team. This is one of those games where Alabama should win, but they have to travel to LSU and Les Miles doesn't lose there at night much. It should be the most interesting game in the conference for the week. Alabama is knocking on the door of the playoff, but they would likely have to win out. It should be another big week for the SEC. If you're not excited about this playoff and the lead-up yet then I don't know what gets you excited.
