Richard Samuel/Georgia’s New Offense

Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Richard Samuel will be the starting tailback for the 2011 season. With Caleb King having been released by the University, Richard Samuel will take over that spot. Georgia Bulldogs will have a freshmen running back name Isaiah Crowell. Richard Samuel played tailback in 2008-2009 seasons. In his two seasons as tailback, Richard rushed for 528 yards in 114 attempts and scored 3 touchdowns. Last year when he was a linebacker, he was injured part of the season. He was then redshirted for the remainder of the 2010 season. He’s now looking forward to be the starting tailback for the 2011 season.

The Georgia Bulldogs start the season on September 3, 2011 at the Georgia Dome in the Chick Fil A Kickoff game. They will be playing Boise State which is the Bulldogs second time they will face the Broncos of Boise State. Last time these two teams met was also on September 3 -- 2005 in Athens. Georgia beat Boise State 48-13 to start off a great season in which they won the SEC Championship in December of that season.

Sophomore Aaron Murray will be the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs. Last season Aaron Murray started all 13 games for the Bulldogs. Aaron Murray had a great year last season. He completed 209 of 342 in completions; he passed for 3,049 yards and threw for 24 touchdowns. He had a 61.1 passing percentage which is pretty good for a quarterback that won 7 games last year. He ran for 167 yards in 87 attempts with 4 touchdowns to his credit. He won’t have A.J. Green as his receiver this year.

Orson Charles who will be the starting tight end for the Bulldogs this season is going to be Aaron Murray’s favorite target. Since A.J. Green won’t be in Georgia’s great offense, Orson Charles will have to step up and make an impact for Aaron Murray. Last season Orson Charles had 26 receptions for 422 yards with 2 touchdowns. He had a 16.2 receiving percentage per game. With him only having 2 touchdowns, he will have to make some big plays on the offense if Georgia is to compete for a SEC championship.

Georgia’s offensive line will consist of Ben Jones who is center, Trinton Sturdivant who is offensive tackle, Hugh Williams, Austin Long, and A.J. Harmon. These guys will have their work cut out. With several key players from last year’s team now gone, they will have to make key blocks to prevent opponents’ defense to go through the line. Split End Tavarres King who is a senior, will be another go to guy in this offense. Last season Tavarres King had 27 receptions for 504 yards and had 3 touchdowns. This year’s team has a good chance in winning the East division and winning the SEC conference championship.
