QUESTION:
I am wondering where I might find team penalty yards broken down by game for a given year (e.g., 2008). Any suggestions?
ANSWER:
Hey Brian...
Thank you for your question.
Here's a site that should provide you with the breakdowns you were looking for:
CFB Stats.
Should you have an interest in college football history, may I suggest a complimentary subscription to The College Football Historian.
Each issue has orginal content as researched by leading historians/researchers; members of the media or like yourself, fans of the sport.
It is published monthly by the Intercollegiate Football Researchers Association (IFRA).
Recently IFRA was called upon by ESPN for assistance in finding info on the history of the QB Sneak; after it had gone to a noted site, our members were able to provide the ESPN writer with more than she could ever imagine on this play.
In fact ESPN the Magazine has indicated it will publish our work in the "back to school" issue this year (2011).
If you have any questions, please get back with me.
Hope the site I listed will be able to answer your question.
