Good game, but could have been better.
Being a fan of Oregon and PAC-10 Athletics in general, I was definitely pulling for the Ducks to win, knowing it was a going to be a grind.
I thought the obvious difference was Oregon's lack of size and power up front on both sides of the ball and the athletic plays of Oregon are what kept them in the game. Auburn definitely dominated that most crucial aspect of the game in the trenches.
Chip Kelly, as I am sure he is looking at it, will have to go and recruit some beef to solidify both lines. Nick Fairley was a monster and proved, no doubt, he is by far the best D-lineman in America. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Chargers uniform when he turns pro!
The defenses were terrific, even though there were quite a few points left out on the field by both teams.
The disappointing part of the game was the field! The field condition was beyond disgraceful for a championship game held indoors in a stadium as new as UoPhoenix. It obviously hindered both teams by the way they were slipping all over the place. Regardless, congrats to the Auburn Tigers on a terrific season!
I still love my Ducks! Cheers!
