There is no doubt that Tennessee football is not where everyone wants it to be. However, not many programs manage to escape down years.
I don't think we need to throw Fulmer under the bus because he has not met our expectations this year. Less than one year ago we were in the SEC championship game. As individuals, how would we feel if our bosses told us we were doing a good job, but then fired us without calling us in and telling us what we have done wrong and telling us what we needed to do to keep our job.
I don't think Mike Hamilton is happy with the productivity of Coach Fuilmer, but I do think Fulmer deserves to be called in and given specific goals that need to be met in order to keep his job.
If Coach Fulmer and Hamilton then agree that those goals are realistic, it should fall upon Mike Hamilton to follow up and schedule times to review the progress. Then if goals are not met and Mike feels that Fulmer can't meet those goals, I think the time would be right to go in another direction.
