Old Miss track coach, Joe Walker, facing his past?

Old Miss head coaches, Joe Walker (track) and Doug Blackwell (cross country) have overseen (during the past 22 years) perhaps the worst performing teams in SEC history in any sport. Their teams have finished in either last or next to last place in SEC championships 84 times. They have finished in the bottom three, 105 times. Their women's cross country teams have finished either last or next to last every single (22) year. Fifteen of those placings were last.

The men have finished last or next to last ten times and in the bottom three, fifteen times. Three times the cross country teams have been disqualified from the team competition for lack of a full team. In 2007 there were only three men's finishers. Am I missing something here? Why does this keep happening?
