I love that the MWC is a so called mid major.. It is marketed as David vrs Golliath when we match up against a BCS school. It is really unfair for the supposed less athletic MWC to have to match up against the more athletic conferences.
Especially in the skilled positions it is just unfair and not fun to watch right? Really, you would not have wanted to see Ladainian Tomlinson (TCU), Marshal Faulk (SDSU) or Steve Young (BYU) take on more BCS schools? OK, so maybe you would have enjoyed watching a couple of those games but they don't have any history and are not real football programs right?
Let's look at BYU for a minute to see any football history. They were the 1984 National Champs and have some serious coaching pedigree. LaVell Edwards, Mike Holmgren, Andy Reid, Norm Chow, Kyle Wittingham (I'm sure Alababama remembers the Utes from last year), Steve Sarkisian (Washington beat USC this year),and Bronco Mendenhall, and Gary Crowton (LSU off coord) all played football or started coaching at BYU. Clearly BYU has the tradition and Pedigree. The stadium holds roughly 65k so it is not a small school. I guess the MWC will continue to lay in wait and prove over over again that there best can take on anyone and come out on top the majority of the time. I'm guessing we will go 5 and 0 this year in bowl games. Go TCU
I wish TCU would have been matched up against Florida. The Big East should stick to basketball cause they are not looking like a powerhouse conference from the left coast.
