Tiger Stadium opened in 1924, and before that it was called State field, I think. I just went through some old boxes and ran across about 25 photos of LSU in 1922. One I really liked. They were having a Snake Dance on the State field at LSU. E.L. Stephans, president of the Alumni Association, proposed that one game be attended by the alumni in a body to boost Tiger morale, many dressed in pajamas and the sort.
Grads turned out by the thousands for the 20th meeting with the Green Wave. Called “first Homecoming celebration” by the Reveille
