Florida, not Kentucky, is looking like they are the class of SEC basketball this year. They come into tonight's game against Alabama being ranked #6 in the country with a 15-2 overall record and an 4-0 SEC conference record. Their only two losses were against top 25 teams in UCONN and Wisconsin.
They have handled 2 of the SEC teams they have played easily and been through the fire with Arkansas in over time and a very game Auburn opponent this past weekend. Florida has two great scorers in Prather and Wilbekin. They have some size underneath and play a very aggressive style of defense that will keep them in games and push them to victory.
In the preseason we all thought it would be Kentucky to be tops in the SEC, but their youth has held them back a little. Kentucky will without a doubt be better by the time the SEC tournament starts. They are a team that wins on their ability right now, but will gain experience and develop better chemistry later.
Florida, however, has the chemistry and experience right now, so I call them the class of the SEC at this time!
