Chris Leak in the All American Football League

The last time Chris Leak saw playing time he completed eleven of sixteen passes for eighty-eight yards, with a interception and touchdown. It was the final game of the 2007 NFL preseason & it would be the last time Leak was on a football field. He was cut by the Chicago Bears on September 16th.
Leak, the former Florida Gator quarterback who led the team to a National title victory in 2007 over Ohio State, has now taken a new direction. The new upstart football league The All American Football League (AAFL) made Leak a 6th round draft choice of the Florida Franchise. The new Florida team is also coached by another former Florida qb in Shane Matthews. Leak is the only legit qb on the roster next to former Marshall & Cincinnati Bengal Eric Kresser.
With this being Matthews first head coaching job Leak is expected to play an important role, not just for the team but for the new league as well. The NFL is the Microsoft of professional football and for new leagues to make any type of impact they must have players people are familiar with & quality play on the field.
The AAFL has already accomplished that first step with Chris Leak, among other former college stars. Leak progressed steadily year after year at Florida & most expect the same out of Leak in the new league. Leak and Matthews won't be the only former Gators in the AAFL, as team Florida is loaded with former Gator Alums.
For Leak it is a new start at continuing his journey at quarterback. For a new fledging league it is a good start for what might become a quality future.
