CBS's SEC Duo Lundquist & Danielson: Simply the Best!

Part of what makes the college football game so exciting is the many excellent TV reporters who have presented the games. Over the years we have had great announcers such as Chris Schenkel, Keith Jackson, Bud Wilkinson, and Bill Fleming who did a great job of presenting these exciting games. Each of these greats had something very unique - a sense of personality and character that you don't see in today's reporters.
Many of those old school reporters are gone, but there remain two very special announcers on CBS who make the game of SEC football a very exciting thing to watch every week. And those great reporters are Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson.
Anyone who watches the SEC on CBS every autumn knows that these two gentlemen know the game of football and love it with all their heart. They bring a sense of enthusiasm, of fun, an exuberance, that today's reporters simply do not have.
Yes, today's reporters can fill up an encyclopedia with statistics. But they do not have an ability to provide an in-depth analysis of the game or its strategy the way Lundquist & Danielson do. Nor do they demonstrate the deep love of the game the way these old school reporters (like their predecessors) always did.
Thus for me, as a fan of the SEC, as one who loves college football, and as an old school enthusiast, there is no greater announcing combo than the Lundquist-Danielson duo. They are simply the best. I hope with all my heart that they will continue to work together for a long, LONG time!
Tune in to SEC on CBS. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
