1966 Team Was Best Alabama Team Ever

I cannot say whether some other school may or may not be better than the best Alabama team. I saw them play in 1961, but I was 10 years old and not a football expert.

However, according to Bear Bryant, his 1966 team was better than his 1961 team. I say that trumps about everybody else on which of his teams was his best.

Stats cannot alone be the deciding factor. The 1966 team played a much more difficult schedule than 1961 and had a much better offense with a defense that only gave up a few more points than the 1961 team.

I can remember Alabama blowing Nebraska off the field in the 1/1/67 bowl, just like the Cornhuskers returned the favor five years later.
